Ward Acres Park
Ward Acres is a 62-acre park in the Wykagyl section of the City of New Rochelle, in Westchester County, New York, with 30+ acres of open fields, 30 acres of woodlands, the largest dog park in Westchester County, a community-run garden, historic ruins, a biodiversity preserve, miles of walking paths, and more.
Ward Acres provides residents with a unique park experience within a natural setting. Wooded areas are much the same as they had been over a century ago, and current park trails follow the alignment of the early horse farm’s trails and drives. Stone walls which once defined pastures, the grave sites of Ward champion horses and three of the farm’s main buildings still stand on the property.
Ward Acres Conservancy
Ward Acres Conservancy is a not-for-profit volunteer organization, founded by private citizens in partnership with the City of New Rochelle, that exists to protect and restore the historically significant and ecologically fragile landscape of Ward Acres Park. The Conservancy seeks to protect and preserve natural and historical aspects of the park, to create an inclusive organization built on the diversity of the City, and to create an intimate interaction and educational experience with nature with access for all.

Ward Acres Conservancy is 100% volunteer staffed and run. The Conservancy can only exist when people contribute in whatever way they can.
As stewards for 62 acres of woodlands and meadows, we have a year-round need for hands-on volunteers to work outdoors in the Park various work projects, both in the Community Garden and in Ward Acres Park at large. Come join your friends and neighbors on an outside workday!
